ABOUT RUSSIAN INTERNATIONAL STUDIES ASSOCIATION
Founded on December 22, 1999, Russian International Studies Association (RISA) is a leading Russian organization that promotes research and education in the sphere of international affairs and political science. RISA organises conferences for IR researchers, publishes books and journals. RISA President is Rector of MGIMO-University,Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anatoly Torkunov. RISA is a member of the International Studies Association (ISA).
The purpose of RISA is to promote the best traditions of research and education in international affairs political science and to give Russian scholars and practitioners a regional base for developing and sharing research. Given its purpose, RISA goals are to provide opportunities for communications among Russian educators, researchers, and practitioners, develop contacts between Russian and foreign specialists, improve the teaching standards and dissemination of ideas, publish books and journals, provide channels of communication between academics and policy makers in Russia.
Since its establishment RISA has organized nine major international conventions on Russian foreign policy and international relations were organized as well as international conferences, academic seminars and round tables. Russian International Studies Association is headquartered in Moscow, Russia on the campus of MGIMO-University.
