VII RISA Convention

«Resources for Modernization: Options and Limits of International Environment»

MOSCOW, RUSSIA

The RISA Convention is the largest Russia’s event for scholars and practicioners of international affairs. RISA Convention takes place every two years and offers over various panels and round-tables to more than 500 participants from all over Russia and abroad who come to share their ideas on a variety of subjects. According to the tradition, participation in the 7th RISA Convention is free of charge.

Please, note that English translation will only be organized for the following events:

  • Opening Plenary Session
  • Section “Arab Spring”

All other Convention events will be in Russian without translation.

VENUE

Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Russia (MGIMO-University). Address: 76, Vernadskogo prospect, Moscow, Russia.

GENERAL INFORMATION

ACCOMODATION

RISA is not responsible for booking hotel rooms for Convention participants. However, for non-residents and foreign participants of the VII Convention RISA Executive Committee can offer the following hotel accommodation options:

— Accommodation at the "Astrus" hotel (146, Leninskiy ave.) includes the cost of a single standard room (20 sq.m.), breakfast at the hotel restaurant and free WI-FI.

  • From 27.09.12 (14.00) to 28.09.12 (12.00) – 4480 roubles per day
  • From 28.09.12 (14.00) to 30.09.12 (12.00) – 4030 roubles per day

There is an additional fee for a late check-out before 23:00 (½ of the cost of a stay per day). Double standard rooms are also available as well rooms of higher category (upon request). Payment can be effected as an advance repayment by bank transfer to the account of "Gardariki Service" as well as by cash or credit cards at the hotel reception upon arrival.

— Forum participant Special Package. The package is valid for the period September 27–30, 2012 and it includes:

  • Single accommodation at the "Astrus" hotel (Standard room, 3 nights)
  • breakfast at the hotel restaurant (3)
  • dinner at the hotel restaurant (3)
  • ndividual transfer airport / railway station – hotel on the day of arrival
  • Individual transfer hotel – airport / railway station on the day of departure
  • 2 group transfers the hotel – MGIMO-University building (September 28 and 29)

Package Price: 21 490 roubles

There are additional fees for all other services, including a late check-out. Alternatively, Package Offer may include a room of a higher category (please, contact the agency to find out the price). Payment can be effected as an advance repayment by bank transfer to the account of "Gardariki Service" as well as by cash or credit cards at the hotel reception on arrival. All mentioned above services in the package may also be ordered separately and paid by bank transfer.

Since September 27-30 is a high season in Moscow (multiple events are taking place in September and hotels are usually booked long in advance), RISA Executive Committee strongly recommends Convention participants to book a room as soon as possible. EVENTS’ LOCATION

RISA Convention Registration will occur at MGIMO-University Old and New building (76, Vernadskogo prospect, Moscow, Russia).

CONVENTION REGISTRATION

At the Registration, attendees pick up their programs and name badges. On Friday, September 28 the registration will be located at MGIMO-University Main Conference Hall Lobby (Old Building, ground floor). On Saturday, September 29 the registration will be located at MGIMO-University New Building Hall, second floor. Registration hours are as follows:

  • Friday: 9am-12-30pm
  • Saturday: 9am-10am

ONSITE TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE

In panel rooms, RISA will provide the following:

  • LCD Projector
  • Netbook Computer (Windows-based)
  • Adobe PDF Reader and Microsoft PowerPoint software

Presenters are expected to bring presentations on a flashdrive that can be connected to a Windows-based computer.

ONSITE MEALS

RISA will organize a free buffet for all Convention participants on Friday, September 28 at MGIMO Main Conference Hall Lobby (first floor) and two coffee-breaks on Saturday, September 29. Apart from that, onsite meals will be available for lunch and tea throughout the Convention at reasonable prices.
