XI RISA Convention
On 28-29 September MGIMO-University will host the 11th Russian International Studies Association Convention (RISA) “Dialectics of the Empire: Revolution versus Continuity”. The event is supported by MGIMO Endowment Fund.
The basic program includes the work of sections devoted to the topic of the Convention. Besides, according to the plan of events connected with the centenary of the Russian Revolution of 1917, in the framework of the XI RISA Convention MGIMO will host the international scientific conference “The Russian Revolution of 1917 and its role in the history of the XX century”. The Conference is co-organized by the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Historical Society).
Those who would like to organize or moderate a conference in the framework of the XI RISA Convention are welcome to submit the topic and expected participants list to risa@inno.mgimo.ru. The deadline is 31 July.
Dear participants, please mind that to take part in the XI RISA Convention you are expected to submit to the moderator not only the abstract but also the whole text of your report or article. Please mind that the report or article must be organized according to the requirements prior to the day of the Convention.
The collection of texts in the aftermath of the XI RISA Convention will be published by the start of the following Convention.
For the second time in the framework of the XI RISA Convention a scientific contest among young researchers will be held in three nominations: “Best Monographic Paper”, “Best Collective Research”, “Best Scientific Article by a Young Researcher”. Besides, this year there will be a special nomination “The Great Russian Revolution and international studies: lessons of the past and current research problems”. You can submit your applications from 15 June to 1 September. The awarding ceremony will take place in the days of the XI RISA Convention.
Participation in the X RISA Convention requires registration and payment. The Organizing Committee offers two participation packages:
Package 1 (fee – 1600 rubles)
- Badge of participant
- Bag of participant
- Publication in the collection of conference papers
- Meals (coffee-breaks, lunch, reception) during two days of the Convention
Package 2 – for MGIMO staff only (fee – 800 rubles)

* Meals are not included, but there is an opportunity to order them for the fee of 800 rubles.
Important dates of the 11th RISA Convention:
1 June – opening of registration on the RISA website
1 July – start of the formation of the list of sections on the RISA website
4 September – deadline for the abstracts and texts of reports and articles
15 September– publication of the list of participants and reports on the RISA website
24 September – deadline for online registration on the RISA website (obligatory for all participants)
