Registration for XIII RISA Convention now open


On 15–16 October, 2021 MGIMO-University will host the 13th Russian International Studies Association Convention (RISA): Thirty Years of the New Russia’s Foreign Policy. The Convention is an official event of the Year of Science and Technology in Russia.

As is tradition, the event will bring together over a thousand leading Russian and foreign scholars who will discuss the evolution of Russian foreign policy over the past three decades, the transformation of social policy in modern context, the peculiarities and dynamics of relations with newly independent states, and the current international legal aspects of world politics.

Those who would like to organize a section or hold a conference in the framework of the 13th RISA Convention are welcome to submit the topic and expected participants list to The deadline is 30 July.

Those who take part in the Convention as speakers are expected to submit to the moderator the abstract and the whole text of report or article prior to the event. When preparing the report or article for publication, please follow the requirements.

Special meetings of a number of multilateral and bilateral dialogue platforms as well as partner academic and educational institutions events will be held on the margins of the Сonvention, including:

  • Israeli-Russian Conference devoted to the 30th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations;
  • 4th Polish-Russian and Polonist Conference;
  • Sessions of the Czech-Russian Forum;
  • ASEAN-Russia Conference devoted to the 25th anniversary of the ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Partnership;
  • Uzbek-Russian expert session;
  • Trianon Dialogue sessions;
  • Sochi Dialogue sessions;
  • Post-Crisis World Order: Challenges and Technologies, Competition and Cooperation (together with IMEMO).

Experts, practitioners, and Ph.D. students are invited to participate. Registration is required for participation.
